Just breathe

Keep calm

Keep calm

I have decided that my mantra from now until the wedding will be: keep calm whatever else happens. I am already struggling to stick to it. Just as I am struggling to watch what I eat, drink lots of water instead of delicious creamy coffee and exercising every morning. I dream about real butter slathered on warm toast. White toast – no low GI seed loaf gets me as excited and don’t even mention cake. I feel like making a bowl of feather light chocolate frosting and eating it with a spoon! Sorry, I am feeling a little fragile today.

One of the last things on my to-do list is to order a wedding cake, or rather in our case: cakes. I want to serve the wedding cake as dessert and thought it would look lovely if I put a cake stand with a small, beautifully decorated cake on each table instead of having one large show stopper. Different flavours, different icing flower decorations. Since we decided on 3 long tables my plan needed adjusting. Logistics, what can I say. A cake table will not only work better, but add a focal point in the dining room.

Cake and eat it

Cake and eat it

Ever watch the movie Run fat boy, Run? I have wanted to cover a cake in little icing daisies ever since I saw a heavily pregnant Libby put the final icing on her wedding cake in this comedy.

I also rather fancy these icing lovelies. I am ordering the cakes but making the decorations myself this weekend. Hold thumbs…
